We want to explore the question of how seasons and weather impact crime rates in Boston and which crimes are most affected by the weather and season. To do this we will merge a weather dataset with our crime dataset for Boston. We will split into two teams, one will create a regression for all crimes depending on the season and another will create a regression for all crimes depending on the weather that day.

In our daily lives weather plays a major role in dictating many of our decions such as what we wear or what we do, or in this case whether you are more likely to commit a crime. In our project we were curious as to how the weather affects crime. Here I hope to explore wether the season, temperature and weather conditions affect the rate of crime within the city of Boston.

This post will offer a brief exploratory analysis about different types of crimes that occured during certain years, months, weeks, and days, in in the City of Boston. I will also provide a brief explanation of the different types of crimes we will be going to analyze. The Boston Crime Dataset is a dataset composed and regularly updated by the Boston city government. The dataset has information about every recorded crime in the city of Boston, stretching back to June of 2015.
